AZUNI is the inspiration of Ashley Sinclair Marshall, who discovered a small skilled workshop of Mayan craftsmen on his travels to the mountain ranges of Guatemala. He was impressed with the ancient creative techniques and beadwork, and there the first Azuni collection was started. He left his career as a top chef in the Dorchester to train in jewellery design at London's Guildhall and showed his first collection in Paris in 1995.

In 2000 the first silver collection was launched, and his current collections are a fusion of semi-precious stone, pure silver, beadwork, swarovski crystal, carved shell and mother of pearl.
